Plum Paper Planner

30-04-2021

Hi all! Lovely to have you back here!

Today I want to talk all about my Plum Paper Planner or Plummie as I like to call her endearingly. I've chosen a 7"x9" coiled 12-month Vertical Priorities layout in neutral colours with some add-ons for my Work-dedicated planner. I'm still getting used to it, I've been using it for about a month so here's my first experience review. At the end of this blog you'll find a discount link, if you're looking for a Plum of your own, definitely feel free to use that discount. This blog post is not sponsored or paid for in any way and neither is the planner, I've bought the planner myself and just wanted to share my honest opinion on it.

First reaction

I'm in love with the quality of the paper, it's so soft and feels super nice. The same goes for the cover, it's super sturdy and with plastic in front, it's well protected plus it's gorgeous and motivating. I love the design I chose for the cover. The coil feels super sturdy and strong as well.

I went with the neutral colour option, I don't plan on decorating this one and will be using it professionally so I wanted to keep it simple and functional.

I have also ordered the planner folio with the planner, which is amazing. It's gorgeous, soft and protects your planner. I'm truly in love with it.

Add-ons

I've added some extras to this planner. There are a couple of notes sections (a brainstorm section, lined notes and dotted notes) in the back and a pocket to keep little things & memo notes tidied up. There are also some extra at the end of the months: 1 double-sided note page, 1 double-sided meetings page and 1 double-sided to-do list page.

I figured I only need this planner, for the time being, no extra notebooks, to-do pads, everything can be in here. In the front pockets of the folio (sold separately from the planners), I have some memo notes and to-do lists ready. Those are bought locally and do not come with the folio or the planner.

The extra's do add on an additional cost, just putting that out there as an FYI.

I have a quick reel over on my Instagram showing the lay-out and add-ons: https://www.instagram.com/p/CL__3JSpClu/

Layout & Design

As I said on top, I went with the Vertical Priorities layout. There are so many layouts to choose from. I've personalized some parts, such as the different headers. I went with the neutral coloured layout. I find this vertical layout very practical and functional. I can fit in appointments & to-do's in the same column each day. I have plenty of space for everything too. I do, however, now that I've been using the layout am thinking of switching to another layout for 2022, where I can customize the 'areas' a bit more beforehand. Like a teacher layout. But that's to be determined later. That's one of the top reasons I went with Plum Paper, you can customize your layout so easily on their website. I love that, I can make it super functional to fit all my planner needs.

How I use the planner

I've been using the Structuurjunkie style of planning. Check out her Insta or website for more info on that. She has her own planner line too, and has created very productive planner workshops! I have followed her mini plan with me training and have taken a lot of useful tips from that one alone. I do a little bit of colour coding: appointments/meetings, to do's/tasks, deadlines. For the tasks I write in during the day I do not colour code those, only the ones at the top, to distinguish what's up there (because that could be a mix of deadlines and tasks). I also plan ahead, for instance on a Friday afternoon (if work/deadlines permits) I grab my planner, a cup of coffee, open my Outlook calendar and start to write down the stuff that I know will happen. Like a meeting and some tasks, I have pre-planned or know will come up. I write those down on the Friday before. I check off tasks as I go so my planner is always by my side, whether I'm working at the office or working from home.

This Planner has truly become my trusted side-kick already. And, as said I'm already designing my next Plum Planner for 2022 (yep, I'm that kind of Planner girl...) and designing my regular/personal 2022 catch-all planner there too. I'm thinking of switching to an A5 for next year, but I am not completely set on that idea yet. For a closer look at my catch-all planner setup for this year, check out this blog:

It's been a while since I've posted on here, it's been soo busy here. Switched jobs and got so busy with my new work, loving every minute though! And then the Summer Stories Masterclass started in July, so besides making projects for the regular DLS kits, I was also making courses and lessons for the Summer Stories Masterclass....
