Memory Keeping
A look into my Memory Keeping game and what I like to use for my Memory Keeping!
I am a big fan of Memory Keeping! My main memory keeper is 'just' a vertical classic Happy Planner. It's the perfect size for me! Not too big (like the Big Memory Planners) and not too small either. Perfect for a combo of pics, stickers and journaling. In this blog, I want to show you some different styles of Memory Keeping.
Memory Keeping in a planner
My go-to memory-keeping style is memory planning. I have a couple of Happy Planners filled up of the past years. I make weekly spreads with The Happy Planner Stickerbooks and with the DLS Design Monthly Kits (more to come on those in this blog so keep reading). It's a great way to document life and for me to stay on top of it. I rarely get behind on memory planning and when I do it's just a couple of weeks. The weekly spreads are the biggest part of my memory keeping game and are filled with pictures and stickers of fun activities or food, or just the kid and the cat when it's a slow week. The monthly views in my memory planner are used for a pic-a-day of our toddler. Each month has 30-31 pictures of her and it's so fun to grab January 2019 and start flipping the months to see how much she has grown and changed in the course of the last 2 years. Don't tell anyone, but I secretly think those are my favourite parts of my Memory Planner haha.
Memory Keeping in an album
This can be project-life style/pocket pages or scrapbook style. Or maybe a combo of the two.
I love using flipbook or sn@p albums for special albums, like seasonal ones or of special occasions. I usually will use one or two kits of a brand in that one album too. To make it all match and look cohesive.
For example: click here for a quick flip through of last year's Summer Vacay album and here for a 2017 Vacay album.
Memory Keeping in a journal/TN
I don't do this as often as I should but a TN or journal is a perfect way to Memory Keep. I always feel way artsier using one and they're also a great size if you're not into huge albums or planners. Seeing these pages makes me want to go back to a journal too. Planner/Crafty problems right?! The only downside for me personally is that they get super bulky because they're stitched/glued/stapled, although a chunky journal (can you believe this pic was just 5/6 months into 2020 haha) sure looks awesome too...
Memory Keeping with the DLS Kits*
There are many different styles to document your memories! I love using the DLS Design kits to document my life and all the precious memories that come with that life. They match so well together and combine perfectly with their extra seasonal lines like the new Summer Stories line.
With the monthly kits, you can also subscribe to the online community and Academy, which is pretty awesome! There is a forum-like community to chat with like-minded crafters and share pictures, ask questions and so forth. And then there is the DLS Academy, depending on your subscription you get lots of content like process video's, technique video's, sketch challenges, live video's from the Design team members. How cool is that! I can't wait to meet you there and show you all the fun projects I've been working on. Don't forget to subscribe to the DLS newsletter and be the first to know about courses and masterclasses (like the Summer Stories Workshop coming soon with the entire Design team!).
*as a member of the DLS Design team I receive products to use in exchange for content etcetera. However, I do not make any commissions of some sort when you subscribe via the links above.
